On September 25, 2009, there will be a Forum on the Coral Triangle Initiative which will feature Dr. Kent Carpenter of Old Dominion University, U.S.A. This will be held at the Moot Court, 8th Floor of the University of Cebu, Banilad Campus, Cebu City starting at 9:00 to 11:00 AM.
This is a joint undertaking of the Coastal Conservation and Education Foundation, Inc., University of Cebu College of Law, and the Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy.
Amidst the myriad challenges confronting our seas, the forum is aimed at showcasing the current Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI), a partnership in the Indo-Pacific region comprised by six (6) countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste, including the US and Australia. The Coral Triangle is considered the world’s epicentre in marine and coastal biodiversity. It supports the food security, livelihoods, income and coastal protection to more than 120 million people living in the area particularly for coastal communities.
In this light, we are inviting you and the members of the International Yachting Fellowship of the Rotarians and your network to participate in this forum. For confirmation and other queries, you may reach us at 032 233-6909; 416-2040, and look for Kenneth Sotto.
Thank you and your participation is highly anticipated.
Yours truly,
Sgn.
